A ravenous lion, a coterie of comedians and Sir David Attenborough

The epidemic didn’t just affect humans.

With lockdown in full effect, London and Whipsnade Zoos weren’t open to visitors. No visitors = no income. Money was rapidly running out to feed and care for the animals.

The zoos were at risk of being closed forever.

An SOS call came into the agency. Within 48 hours we had a campaign idea - ‘Help Us Stay Open’. In days, Meta, Sky and other media owners donated ad space. We made posters, posts and a TV spot featuring the animals as the Zoo Marketing Dept, voiced by celebs including Tom Allen, Catherine Tate, Bill Bailey, and Meerya Syal, who donated their time and talent. In three months we raised £1million in donations – a lifeline for the Zoo and its animals.

Highlight: Using Sir David Attenborough as the voice (and writer) of his first-ever TV ad appearance, a 60-second plea to save London Zoo from extinction.
